The Director General of the Civil Aviation Agency, Mr. Tomislav Tuntev, Ph.D. held a working meeting with the President of the Management Board of M-NAV and the Executive Director of the Department of Air Navigation, Mr. Nikolche Taseski and the Executive Director for Financial and Legal Affairs, Development and Investments of the Department of Air Navigation, Mr. Migjen Salmani.

At the meeting both sides expressed full willingness to continue the mutual cooperation between the Aviation Regulator and the Air Navigation Service Provider for the purpose of raising the level of aviation safety and upgrading the national aviation transport system.

Tuntev informed the colleagues from M-NAV about the procedure for adopting the amendments of the Aviation Act, which will provide harmonization of the national aviation legislation with the latest international Standards and Recommended Practices.

The interlocutors, among other issues, addressed the needs for strengthening the mutual cooperation in all segments and functional systems involved in the development of air transport in the country, the mutual efforts for providing technical and operational requirements for continuous growth of the number of operations of the aircraft in the Macedonian sky, as well as the requirement to timely fulfil all responsibilities towards the relevant international organizations and institutions in the field of aviation and transport.

The heads of the Civil Aviation Agency and M-NAV confirmed the mutual efforts for further deepening of the cooperation between both institutions within the legally established competencies, which should enable provision of modern, safe, efficient and regular services in the air navigation system. In addition, they highlighted the need for a common, coordinated and harmonized approach and active participation of both national institutions within the frames of the current initiatives, projects and development programs of the international aviation organizations, which will contribute towards enabling the Macedonian air transport system to keep the pace with the integrative operational processes of the Single European Sky.
