Within the frames of the established practice for establishing, maintaining and improving the mutual regional cooperation, for the first time a meeting was held between the representatives of the Macedonian and Hellenic civil aviation authorities at the highest level. The heads of both civil aviation authorities held the meeting at the premises of the Civil Aviation Agency in Skopje.

The guests from the Hellenic Republic, the highest representatives of the Hellenic aviation regulator and the Hellenic Air Navigation Service Provider highlighted their willingness to initiate specific activities and development projects within the established bilateral cooperation between both states. At the meeting they emphasized the need for improving the mutual cooperation between the regulatory bodies in the field of aviation in the region. Our representatives presented the projects for which the CAA is expecting assistance and support by the EU Member States for the achievement of the envisaged objectives and development plans. In addition, they emphasized the mutual efforts for sharing experiences and positive practices for the achievement and fulfillment of the relevant international standards and recommendations in the field of safety of air transport.

The interlocutors highlighted the importance of a common regional representation and participation in the work of EUROCONTROL, ICAO, ECAC, EASA and the other international aviation organizations and associations. At the meetings it was agreed to establish a mutual cooperation of the experts and professionals at operational and technical level, within the frames of the main activity of the civil aviation authorities of both states.
