During the meeting between the representatives of the Macedonian and Hellenic civil aviation authorities held in Skopje at the highest level, the heads of both authorities signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

Taking into account the necessity of undertaking important and meaningful steps towards full inclusion of the Macedonian aviation transport system within the frames of the Single European Sky, as well as the mutual dedication towards sharing the experiences and positive practices for achieving and fulfilling the relevant international standards and recommendations and appreciating the values for establishing a bilateral technical cooperation in the field of air transport, both parties of the Memorandum have agreed:

  • the common objectives, directives and principles of mutual cooperation;
  • the areas of future mutual cooperation: personnel licencing, flight operations, aerodromes, airworthiness, aircraft register, air navigation services, air traffic management, aviation safety, aviation security, air passengers’ rights;
  • to establish working groups and expert bodies for technical and operational cooperation.

Upon signing the Memorandum of Cooperation, the Directors General of both civil aviation authorities once again reiterated the mutual readiness to initiate specific activities and development projects in the field of air transport within the established bilateral cooperation between both states.
