Macedonian-Singaporean Aviation Relations: New Training and Cooperation Horizons

The Director General of the Civil Aviation Agency, Dragi Stojanoski, recently visited the “Directors Programme in Aviation Management” training course. During his visit, he held a significant meeting with Mr. Han Kok Juan, Director General Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, as well as with Ms. Charmaine Liu, Director of the renowned Singapore Aviation Academy.

The talks between Stojanoski and his colleagues resulted in an agreement to intensify the cooperation between the Macedonian and Singaporean Aviation Authorities. A special focus was given at the aviation personnel, through training at the Singapore Academy – one of the most renowned centres of this type in the world.
As “Civil Aviation Management” a graduate from this Academy, Stojanoski emphasized that he wants to share his positive experience with his Macedonian colleagues and the entire aviation industry. At the meeting, he also insisted on opening up opportunities for as many specialized trainings as possible for Macedonian personnel in Singapore.
Additionally, the possibility of conducting part of the training in Skopje, under the auspices and with instructors from the Singapore Academy, was considered. The goal is for the newly established organizational CAA Training and Education Unit, through the transfer of Singaporean knowledge, to grow into a regional, and over time, European Civil Aviation Centre.
Colleagues also agreed to organize study visits, as well as On-the-job training (OJT) at the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, which would allow Macedonian personnel to gain practical experience in top international aviation institutions.
“Following the Singapore experience, we believe that with dedication and desire for progress, even a small country like ours can be an example and play a significant role in the development of regional and European civil aviation,” Stojanoski emphasized on this occasion.
The formalization of the cooperation, through the signing of arrangements and protocols, is expected to be comprehended at the ICAO 42nd Assembly, which will be held in late September in Montreal, Canada.
