The CAA and the Albanian Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) Define an Operational Agreement Between the Two Countries
The Civil Aviation Agency recently hosted a delegation from the Albanian Rescue Coordination Centre (RCC) with the aim of defining an operational cooperation agreement between the two countries in the field of search and rescue (SAR).
During the meeting, both delegations exchanged experiences and knowledge within their respective competencies, and harmonized the technical and operational aspects of the bilateral cooperation through a series of presentations on the functionality and operational readiness of their existing national SAR systems.
The visit resulted in the definition of the full text of the operational agreement, which will serve as a foundation for further cooperation in the field of search and rescue—particularly in the region of Lake Ohrid and the border areas.
This step represents another significant contribution toward enhancing regional cooperation and strengthening aviation safety capacities in the Republic of Macedonia. It is of exceptional importance for the development of Macedonian civil aviation, playing a key role in the establishment of unified standards, the strengthening of national capacities, the improvement of cross-border coordination, and the support of ICAO international standards and procedures implementation.
