The Director General of the Civil Aviation Agency (CAA), Mr. Dragi Stojanoski, held a working meeting with a high-level delegation from the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of North Macedonia. The delegation was led by His Excellency, Ambassador Rashid Bin Saeed Al-Khayareen.

During the meeting, the Qatari delegation sought support from the Macedonian aviation authorities for the State of Qatar’s candidacy for membership in Part III of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The elections will be held during the 42nd ICAO Assembly, which will take place from September 23 to October 3, 2025.

Director Stojanoski used the meeting to initiate a discussion on the resumption of Qatar Airways’ flight route to and from our country, which was ceased due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both sides also discussed future steps to advance bilateral cooperation in civil aviation. The primary goal is to strengthen capacities through professional training of personnel, exchange of experience and knowledge, and the adoption of best practices between the aviation authorities of both countries.

This working meeting once again confirmed the exceptionally friendly relations between the two countries, with both delegations expressing full readiness to continue cooperation in all future initiatives of mutual interest.
